Vera Barker
Hello, my name isVera and I have lived locally since the age of five. My late husband and I brought up are familyin the area and I worked for many years in tailoring at Burtons.
I have been involved with HOPE since 1997, originally as a volunteer and then for over twenty years as a trustee. In this time, I have been involved in fundraising, supporting groups and events as well as helping the organisation to develop and grow to where it is now.
I also attend some of HOPE’s groups which I enjoy, through this, I have made so wonderful friendships and networks.
In my spare time I like to read, knit, and do jigsaw puzzles as well as gardening and decorating. I also have a love for the theatre and music.
I have a good social life and meet up with family and friends on a regular basis.
