Janette Nixon
My name is Janette and am privileged tobe Chair of Trustees.
I was born in Cape Town, South Africa and have been involved in community projects most of my life, from fundraising to building an English-speaking school and church in my community, to visiting and supporting isolated people with HIV in dedicated ‘Aids Houses’.
I moved to Leeds 16 years ago when I retired and then I moved to Halton Moor. I heard about the excellent work that HOPE did in my community, and decided to become a volunteer in 2010, I was later elected on to the trustee board. The HOPE Team is dedicated to making life a little bit easier for all members of the community and work incredibly hard to make this happen and I am immensely proud of the work we do.
In my spacer time I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren, and I am an avid crafter.
