Georgie Spedding

Originally from Knaresborough, I grew up attending schools in both Knaresborough and Harrogate and later attended University in Leeds and this was the start of my affection for this great city of ours.

I started work as HOPE’s Project Worker in February 2002 and during this time, I have worked through a number of roles and in 2022 I became HOPE’s, Chief Executive Officer.

HOPE first opened it's doors in 1994 and has always supported its 60+ community, however the work we did during the COVID-19 pandemic for our 60+ and wider community started the journey we are now on, and that is to support anyone who will benefit from our services regardless of age while still ensuring the services we provided for our older adults.

We have expanded services and opportunities since we first opened our doors and are continuing to do so. In 2023 we rebranded from Halton Moor and Osmond thorpe Project for Elders (HOPE) to Halton Moor and Osmond thorpe Project for Everyone (HOPE).

I have always felt privileged to work for HOPE and be part of an amazing team of dedicated people. I have met so many wonderful people and learnt so much from the experience and knowledge, for this, I will always be grateful.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, pottering in the garden and cooking. I also love to listen to music and travel whenever I can.
