Hello, my name is Ann Pritchard. I started volunteering for HOPE in 2020 and in 2022 I was elected to join the Board of Trustees.
I’ve lived on the Osmond thorpe Estate over 50 years, so you could say I am local. I left school at 15 and had various jobs, my most recent one lasted 21 years in the NHS. I did various roles in these 21 years which included, auxiliary nurse, physiotherapy assistant, ward clerk, occupational therapy assistant in Bexley Wing at St James’s in Leeds. From where I retired at age 62.
I’ve developed a strong set of skills since volunteering for HOPE, one of which is organising groups, events, raffles, and tombola's as well as organising items for our ‘Winter Warmth Scheme’. I am always looking for a challenge.
I also plan and facilitate the Thursday Friendship Group, which I really enjoy. I also manage HOPE’s Community Food Pantry on a Tuesday and organise food supplies. When asked what motivates me, I answer, it is all the lovely people I have met over the years. I am always looking for anew challenge and new opportunities.
Outside of HOPE, I enjoy walking my cocker spaniel, going to the theatre, reading, and shopping.
